This week Racing Style Nation brings you style tips for the upcoming Doomben 10000 Race Day.
I guarantee you I am not alone when I say that the upcoming 'Touch of Metallic' theme for Saturday, 28 May 2016, is the most modern, adaptable and popular over the carnival! Last year's competition saw a hotly contested FOTF with overall winner Amy Robson taking out the top prize for the ladies in a coordinating look featuring bronze detail. Her grandmother, Sandra Robson was the creator of both Amy's millinery as well as first runner up, Shauna Dennett (pictured).

My biggest tip for this theme would be to focus on metallic detailing rather than blinged-up and bedazzled racewear elements. With crown influenced millinery continuing to dominate FOTF across Australia, sorting out the finishing touches should be a breeze for regular racegoers. Gents too can adapt the metallic theme through tiepin, cufflinks or through steely toned fabric suiting.
Most Racing Style Nation milliners are all over the metallic trend that has been dominating racewear over the last few years but for a sneaky peek at some of my personal faves, you simply need to check out Love Lotus, Allport Millinery, Kim Wiebenga and Studio Aniss.
